News
April 2006
Hi All
Sorry
about the lack of news lately, but we’ve been busy
….. honest!
Here’s
a quick update: Since Dave West joined us the band has gone
through a bit of a transformation – there’s
a new sense of energy and fun in the band, which is obviously
being reflected in our recent performances. We’ve
had great compliments from friends, fellow musicians and
new supporters, which is very encouraging. So thanks to
one and all!
We’ve
also been working on new material, and the big news here
is that we’ve introduced the two Daves (West and Groom)
as lead vocalists, adding a new dimension to the band …..
and there’ll be more from these two in the coming
months.
But
the main news has gotta be that we’ve finally got
round to producing a demo! Special thanks to Keith
Bayley at Red
Guitar Studios and Dave Wooster at
Koolworld Studios
who lent their professional experience to this project.
So we’ve put down four tracks and you can listen to
a short mix of these on the ‘Demo’
page. If you would like a copy of the full demo, just
let us know.
As
well as the new line up, everyone loves the new name …..
thank God! It was a difficult decision to make but we’re
glad we did it, and more and more people are getting to
know us as Gravity, not Maple Madness.
Anyway,
armed with the new demo, we aim to be spreading our wings
to new venues in the Beds, Bucks and Herts area, so keep
an eye on the gigs page and hopefully we’ll be playing
in venue near you very soon! In the meantime, we really
appreciate all those loyal fans that travel to see us ….
it’s always great to see you!
Take care.

Hi all,
As you
have probably noticed by now there have been a few changes.
The first is the change of name for the band from Maple
Madness to Gravity. And why we hear you ask……
Well, Lead vocalist and founder-member. Gordon Blackwell
explains: “While we have established an excellent
reputation with Maple Madness, people often think we are
a Madness tribute band, which does occasionally give us
a problem. We’ve been thinking about changing the
name for a while, and we thought the arrival of Dave West
was the ideal time. Initial reaction to the new name has
been very positive, so we hope people will soon get to know
who we are.”
Which
brings us nicely onto the announcement of new bassist and
vocalist Dave West. Dave is a well-accomplished player that
has been around the musical block a few times, which would
explain the grey hair and wrinkles!! But to find out more
about Dave click here….
And finally,
unless this is the first time you have visited our site
you will I am sure notice that along with the new name comes
a new site.
If you
have any comments or wish to find out more just email
us.
